Governance

Over many years I have served as a member of boards of cultural and charitable organisations. I am currently a board member of Warwick Arts Centre.

I have been Chair of Pentabus Theatre Co. ( 2011 – 15) and Black Country Touring ( 2005- 11)

I chaired the London steering group for Sing Up! and have been a funder observer on the  boards of a wide range of organisations in many different circumstances, dealing with many different challenges:
Birmingham Repertory Theatre; City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, New Vic Theatre, Big Brum; The Belgrade Theatre, Courtyard Arts Centre, Warwick Arts Centre, The Drum, Pentabus, and many more.

In recent years I have led Board and Trustee awaydays for companies and charities including:

  • Audiences Central
  • Bath Festival
  • Ikon Gallery
  • Birmingham Forward
  • CAPE UK
  • CAST (Doncaster)
  • C&T
  • Dancescape
  • In Harmony, Lambeth
  • Fierce Festival
  • Red Earth
  • The Other Way Works
  • Vocaleyes
  • Wakefield Theatre Royal
  • Youth Music

Thank you so much for you efficient, robust but always cheerful and amusing chairing of our steering group sessions. ….. I shall personally miss your savvy and perceptive style.
Leonora Davies, London Steering Group, Sing Up

I have first hand experience of Kate Organ’s understanding of the role of an effective board and her ability to facilitate a really productive and motivating relationship between the board members and the executive team and staff. She understands the purpose of effective governance in strengthening and developing an effective and sustainable organisation and has the skills to help people develop their common purpose and work in effective teams to achieve change that works!

Team retreats

Kate’s ability to bring structure, clarity and focus to our team building session on the day was thanks to her calm, encouraging, intuitive and intelligent people skills throughout the session – the result a clearly re-motivated team, determined to improve communication, with a very clearly defined strategy for our future.
